December 3, 2010 National Health Reform and Racial and Ethnic Disparities in Health and Health Care Conference
On December 3, 2010 the Roosevelt House hosted a conference on National Health Reform and Eliminating Racial and Ethnic Disparities in Health and Health Care. The conference focused on racial and ethnic inequities in our health care system and the significance of the recently passed Affordable Care Act (ACA). The Affordable Care Act (ACA) presents an historic opportunity to alleviate racial and ethnic disparities in health and health care in the United States. The federal government and states are now engaged in an ambitious, challenging implementation process which has the potential to improve coverage, medical care, health promotion and disease prevention for all Americans, especially racial and ethnic minorities. Implementation of the ACA also presents opportunities and challenges for New York City and State to address racial and ethnic inequities in our health care system.
This conference was generously underwritten by The Aetna Foundation Inc. with additional support from the Charina Endowment Fund.
